For the first night of my SoCal road trip I wanted to check out a new area along Highway 1 where I was still in ocean-sight, and landed on Pismo Beach after a co-worker suggested checking out San Luis Obispo. Through a trusty Orbitz search and relying on reviews, I was able to find Shore Cliff Hotel– which as you can imagine, is located on the cliffs of Pismo Beach with stunning ocean views.

Accommodations: The Shore Cliff Hotel very much had a strong beach vibe and was a tiny bit dated on the outside, just due to ocean wind and sand wear-and-tear, typical beach hotel and basically expected at this point! The rooms were great, very clean and your typical king room space, it was plenty of room for just me.
The best part, and something I am constantly looking for when booking hotels in California, the balcony. I am a sucker for a balcony boasting ocean-views and this one did not disappoint! I was set back behind the pool that overlooks the ocean and had beautiful sunset views to finish out my first day of travels.

Where to Eat: The hotel did not have a restaurant on-site unfortunately, but there were restaurants on both sides of the hotel and all along the road. I was too exhausted to wait in line 30minutes so I ate stuck to ham sandwiches and chips in my room. Keeping money in check wherever I can! Well, trying to 😉
Amenities: While there was no restaurant on-site, the Shore Cliff Hotel does offer the largest heated pool in Pismo Beach and a decent sized hot tub spa that were set right on the ocean cliffs. There is also a fitness center if you are the type that needs to get their grind on! The hotel also has tennis courts, bocce ball court and trail access for you to explore along the shoreline! The are also dog-friendly which is a huge WIN in my book always.
Picture-perfect Spots: This cliff-side hotel has so many great spots that are photo-worthy and definite must sees. The gazebo at the point of the cliff was my favorite by far, where I was able to take in the sunset without anyone else around – crazy right? Additionally, there were huge glider chairs that fit two people and little benches and tables tucked around the hotel pathways. The hotel is situated on ocean cliffs, and is really picturesque from every angle.

Location: Shore Cliff Hotel was incredibly easy to navigate to off of Highway 1, just a quick exit and finding parking was a breeze. I was also there on a Tuesday though, to keep in mind. Parking was complimentary which is always a nice touch.
Overall, I would definitely stay here again and add some time to my trip so that I can explore this area more. I loved the Pismo Beach location and can’t wait to come back to Shore Cliff Hotel!
